Executing migration plan

  1. After the migration plan execution starts, Application Mobility Service first creates the cloud resources and then configures InfoScale cluster. After that, InfoScale storage and Veritas Cluster Server objects are created.
  2. Application Mobility sets up target configuration on the given cloud service. After completion, the plan moves into a waiting state.

Verify the target configuration. You can also check the Migration status.

  3. Perform the installation and configuration of the application on the created target nodes.
  4. While selecting Migration options, you can select None or Veritas Volume Replicator (VVR). Both the cases are discussed below:
    • During data migration, if the customer has selected None as the replication method, the customer must verify the target configuration and ensure that the replication of application data from the source cluster to the target cluster is successfully completed.

    • During data migration, if the customer has selected Veritas Volume Replicator (VVR) as a replication method, replication of application data is taken care by the service itself.

In both the cases, before initiating an application switchover, ensure that:

    • Application on the source cluster is stopped (application service groups are offline)

    • Application is configured in the target datacenter

    • Data is fully replicated to the target cluster either manually or by using VVR

  5. Update the application password in the VCS agents if presently using the VCS command hares -modify.
  6. Select the option Confirm that the data replication is complete.
  7. Click Start application switchover for triggering the switchover to the target cluster created on AWS or Azure.
