The following list describes the new features, enhancements, and changes in the NetBackup appliance 5.5.0.1 release:
This release is the final software version that supports the NetBackup Appliance 5240 hardware platform.
Starting with this release, the AMS user role is no longer supported and the associated commands have been removed from the appliance shell menu as follows:

Settings > Security > Authorization Grant AMS SSO_Groups
Settings > Security > Authorization Grant AMS SSO_Users

Either before or after an upgrade to software version 5.5.0.1, you must unregister any existing associated agents as follows:
Before an upgrade: Remove the existing associated agents from the Appliance Management Console. For more information, see the topic "Removing one or more agents from the Appliance Management Console" in the Veritas Appliance Management Guide.
After an upgrade: Unregister each associated agent with the following appliance shell menu command:
Main > Appliance > Management > Agent Unregister
Starting with this release, the OpenStorage plugin is no longer supported and the following Main > Manage > OpenStorage commands have been removed from the appliance shell menu:
Main > Manage > OpenStorage > Install
Main > Manage > OpenStorage > List

Main > Manage > OpenStorage > Share

Multifactor authentication support for Log Transfer Console
Starting with this release, the Log Transfer Console supports multifactor authentication. If multifactor authentication is configured on the appliance, a Use multifactor authentication checkbox appears with a check mark and requires an additional 6-digit code for login. If multifactor authentication is not configured, there is no check mark and the 6-digit code is not required.
Support for NetBackup Predictive Cache (P-cache)
Starting with this release, the NetBackup Predictive Cache (P-cache) functionality is available with the NetBackup Appliance. For new 5.5.0.1 appliance deployments, the feature is enabled by default. When you upgrade to version 5.5.0.1, the feature is disabled by default and you must enable it manually. For complete configuration details, see the NetBackup Deduplication Guide and refer to the section title "About MSDP capacity support and hardware requirements".
Starting with this release, the ability to upgrade from factory mode to version 5.5.0.1 and later has been removed.
The Emulex HBA driver has been removed from the ISO.
Communications with the AutoSupport server now support TLS anonymous authentication version 1.3
