GAB processes fail to stop during a full upgrade from 6.2.1 to 8.0 (4055693)
During a full upgrade from 6.2.1 to InfoScale 8.0, the GAB processes fail to stop and installer returns the following message after the upgrading packages:
Storage Foundation Cluster File System HA Shutdown did not complete successfully gab failed to stop on <<system names>> It is strongly recommended to reboot the following systems: <<system names>> Execute '/usr/sbin/shutdown -y -i6 -g0' to properly restart your systems.
The product installer fails to stop the GAB process because the stale 6.2.1 GAB drivers are not removed. The installer can proceed with the upgrade to 8.0, but it cannot start the services.
Workaround: To remove the stale state of the older version of the loaded GAB driver, properly restart your systems when the installer prompts you to do after the completion of the upgrade. The services get started automatically after the systems are restarted.
