Migration of root disks under DMP control may fail with "VxVM vxdmpadm ERROR V-5-1-15253 bosboot" error [3930243]
In a scenario where DMP is enabled for native devices, migration of root disks to SAN disks may fail with the following error:
VxVM vxdmpadm ERROR V-5-1-15253 bosboot would not succeed, please run /usr/sbin/bosboot -vd /dev/hdisk1007 manually to find the cause of failure VxVM vxdmpadm ERROR V-5-1-15251 bosboot check failed
During the migration process, DMP attempts to connect to the /usr/lib/drivers/vxdmp.6.1 file which is a device driver file from an earlier supported DMP version. The file does not exists in the latest release and this cause the failure in the migration process.
Workaround: Perform the following steps to resolve the issue:
Find the cause of failure:
/usr/sbin/bosboot -vd /dev/hdiskx1
Create a dummmy DMP driver file
"echo "1" > /usr/lib/drivers/vxdmp.6.1"
Enable DMP support attribute
vxdmpadm settune dmp_native_support=on
