About configuring the Oracle service group

Configuring the Oracle service group involves creating the Oracle service group, its resources, and defining attribute values for the configured resources.

VCS provides several ways to configure the Oracle service group; the Oracle configuration wizard, the Java and Web consoles, and the command line. This chapter provides instructions on how to use the Oracle configuration wizard to configure the service group.

Note:

In an IPv6 environment, the Lanman agent relies on the DNS records to validate the virtual server name on the network. If the virtual servers configured in the cluster use IPv6 addresses, you must specify the DNS server IP, either in the network adapter settings or in the Lanman agent's AdditionalDNSServers attribute.
