About recovering an Enterprise Vault Server component
You can use the on-host Quick Recovery snapshot set to quickly recover a component after logical corruption.
You can also use a snapshot set to recover a component after production volumes are lost due to hardware failure. This recovery assumes that the failure does not affect the disk or disks where the snapshot set volumes are located.
You can use either the Enterprise Vault Restore Wizard from the Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) console or the vxsnap restore command. Both of these methods integrate with VSS and Enterprise Vault (EV) for putting EV into backup mode. It takes the help of Enterprise Vault PowerShell cmdlet to put EV into backup mode. Backup mode ensures that no writes happen on EV components.
