Specify DSM settings without storage connection
On Windows Server operating systems, you can specify SCSI-3 support and some load balance options for DMP DSMs without the storage being connected.
See Configuring DSMs without storage connection.
The VEA DSM Configuration command enables you to view and select from a list of installed DSMs and apply selected settings.
Note:
The VEA does not show existing or default settings. To view existing settings, you can use the CLI vxdmpadm getdsmattrib command.
To specify DSM settings without storage connection
- In the VEA, right-click DMP DSM in the tree and select DSM Configuration.
The VEA displays a dialog with a list of installed Veritas DSMs.
- To select the DSMs, use the buttons to move them from the Available DSMs list to the Selected DSMs list. The options you select apply to all the selected DSMs.
- Choose the options that you want to apply to the selected DSMs:
Load Balance Policy: Fail Over Only (Active/Passive), round robin (Active/Active), Dynamic Least Queue Depth, Least Blocks, and Balanced Path
If Balanced Path is selected, you can specify the Data Length Block
Under SCSI Settings, you can specify SCSI-3 support.
