Description
Upgrading to NetBackup 10.3 with NetBackup Snapshot Manager (formerly known as CloudPoint) may fail under certain conditions.
Solution
The following actions need to be ensured for a successful upgrade to 10.3 version.
- Always upgrade the NetBackup Snapshot Manager (NSM) Server first, then upgrade the NetBackup Primary server. This order of upgrade is mandatory for the 10.3 upgrade to be successful.
- During the upgrade of the NSM server, always use the name of the NSM server by which it was added to the Netbackup Primary server when it was asked for Host names for TLS certificate. Note: Do not use other aliases while performing this action.
- If the Primary server was upgraded to 10.3 before the NSM server was upgraded and in the NetBackup Primary certificate if

- If the NetBackup Primary server is configured with Multi NICs, then apply the EEB 4138316 post upgrade. If this EEB is not applied, then the communication between NetBackup Primary server and NetBackup snapshot manager may fail.
