How to delete the old network credential for the backup destination on network share completely after the network credential is changed in System Recovery.
Problem
How to delete the old network credential for the backup destination on network share completely after the network credential is changed in System Recovery.
Solution
System Recovery manages network credentials in below 3 locations.
1. The Value data of of the registry "DefaultImagePath"
This registry is located in the following path.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery\DefaultImagePath
2. PQH files
PQH files manage job history information and are located in the following folder.
C:\ProgramData\Veritas\VERITAS SYSYEM RECOVERY\History
3. PQJ files
PQJ files manage job setting information and are located in the following folder.
C:\ProgramData\Veritas\VERITAS SYSYEM RECOVERY\Schedule
System Recovery tries to establish the session to the backup destination on the network share based on the network credentials included in above 3 locations. This behavior is by design.
When the network credential to the backup destination is changed, it is necessary to perform the following procedure to avoid the situation where both the old network credential and the new one are used to establish the session and to maintain the consistency for the network credential in System Recovery environment. If this procedure is not performed properly, the error "Error EBAB03F1: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed" or others may occur when backing up or operating on the console.
