Problem

Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA) export runs but fails with Event 235. All exported items go to the Failed Items folder when attempting to create the PST.

Error Message

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Accelerator Service Processor
Event Category: None
Event ID: 235
Description: APP AT - Customer ID: 6 - [ExportPST] - Error moving some messages to PST for run 'Export Name' System.ApplicationException. Error in the application.
V-437-235

Cause

The DisablePST registry key is set in various places in the registry on the CA or DA server. This can be caused by a Group Policy Object (GPO) being incorrectly applied to the Vault Service Account.

GPO example that will prevent the writing of PSTs:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\12.0\outlook (Outlook 2007)
REG_DWORD 'DisablePST' is present and the value is 0x00000001 (1)

Solution

Microsoft supports a registry setting called DisablePST, which can prevent users from creating or accessing  .PST files.  More information can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/troubleshoot/outlook-issues/control-pst-use

Remove the Vault Service Account user from the Group Policy that disables PST creation via setting the DisablePST registry key.
