Problem
If the Database Maintenance fails, the Backup Exec database gets corrupted
Maintenance has failed: 4313, 4313:Unable to read from or write to the database
Cause
The Backup Exec Database can grow more than 10 GB or when the debug logging is enabled for long time periods, the Database gets corrupt.
Solution
Re-index and repair the Backup Exec Database (BEDB).
1. Browse to the Backup Exec installation folder
- C:\Program Files\Veritas\Backup Exec by default if the Install is Fresh install of Backup Exec 16 and above, not an upgrade.
- C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec by default if the Install is prior to Backup Exec 16 or upgrade from previous version.
2. Double click on "BEutility.exe"
3. Click Yes, on the following window.
4. Veritas Backup Exec Utility will open.
5. Click on All Backup Exec Servers --> Backup Exec server name.
6. Right click on the server name and Click on Rebuild Database Indices and then on Repair Database.
