New system configuration to prevent Commvault hostname and display name swap
A new Commvault data collection setting Enable legacy collection mode - client hostname and display name are transposed is introduced to prevent the swap of its hostname and displayname occurring during its data collection. The setting is disabled in a fresh installation by default.
The default status of the setting during an upgrade changes as follows:
If the Commvault collection is not configured during the upgrade, the setting is disabled by default. Whenever the data collection is initiated after the upgrade, hostname and displayname are persisted correctly by default.
If the Commvault collection is already configured during the upgrade, the setting is enabled by default so that the hostname and displayname are persisted in legacy mode which persists transposed host name and display name.
You can access this setting on the Portal from Admin > Advanced > System Configuration > Data Collection > Commvault Simpana.
