Customized shortcut links in OWA

Customized shortcut links are intended for clients that are not integrated with Enterprise Vault and in most environments would not be configured when an organization uses Enterprise Vault client extensions for Outlook or OWA. However, if links are configured in shortcuts it is possible to make those links work successfully externally using OWA 2013 through TMG.

Note that when using Outlook it will only be possible to make the links work externally if the Enterprise Vault server names in the URLs in the links are accessible externally

For OWA, TMG is capable of translating the links as described in the following article:

To ensure translation of links works correctly:

  • There must be a Computer Network Object for the Enterprise Vault server that is being published.

  • The This rule applies to this published site value on the To page of the Enterprise Vault Web publishing rule properties dialog must be the host value in the customized shortcut link.
