Limitations on searching certain types of Skype for Business content

Enterprise Vault 12.2 and later provides the facility to archive Skype for Business instant messaging and conferencing communications. Enterprise Vault archives each of these communications as an individual email (.eml) file that, in Compliance Accelerator, has a message type of Instant Messaging.

Skype for Business communications can include whiteboards and polls that users share during a conference. The content of these two conference features is stored in a Microsoft-proprietary XML format, which Enterprise Vault cannot index. As a result, you cannot use the facilities in either Enterprise Vault or Compliance Accelerator to search the text content of these items.
