Configuring Cloud object retention properties
Starting from NetBackup 10.3, the object lock feature lets you retain the original object lock properties and also provides an option to customize the object lock properties. When you apply object lock properties on restored objects, the restored objects cannot be deleted until the retention period is over, or legal holds are removed. No configuration is needed during policy creation and backup to use the object lock and retention properties backup.
Note:
This option can incur additional cloud storage costs to hold data for a longer time. Avoid using these options if you want a temporary copy of data that you want to delete after browsing the objects or copying to another location.
To apply object retention locks or legal holds on the restored objects, you can select multiple options during restoration to meet your organization's compliance and retention requirements. You can select the options in the Recovering Cloud object store assets.
