Installing NetBackup Flex Scale on HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 servers using a USB drive
Before you begin, download the NBFS-3.2-20240316.img
ISO image from the the Veritas Support site. After downloading the file to a USB, make the image bootable and connect it to the nodes.
To install NetBackup Flex Scale:
- Launch the HPE iLO Remote Console interface and from the menu on the left, click Administration.
- Click Boot Order.
- Under One-Time Boot Status, in the Select One-Time Boot Option list select USB Storage Device and click Apply.
The screen should look similar to the figure shown below:
- In the Server Boot Order list, select Hard Disk Drive.
- Make sure that Server Boot order should be normal to boot local hard disk as below
- Click the Menu icon, and then click Power > Cold Boot.
- On the screen you can view the following options:
Boot from local drive
Install Veritas Optimized Operating System
Rescue a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system
Select the Install Veritas Optimized Operating System option.
- The installer loads the installer image and begins to install all the required packages. You will see several messages on the screen as the installer runs through the installation process. Some of the screens that are displayed are shown below:
The installer then displays a welcome message on the screen that confirms that the installation has completed successfully. You can log in using the admin credentials to view the installation status:
