Uninstalling Veritas InfoScale using the pkgrm or pkg uninstall command
Use the following procedure to uninstall Veritas InfoScale using the pkgrm command.
If you want to uninstall Veritas InfoScale using the pkgrm command, the packages must be removed in a specific order, or else the uninstallation fails. Removing the packages out of order results in some errors, including possible core dumps, although the packages are still removed.
To uninstall Veritas InfoScale
- Unmount all mount points for file systems and Storage Checkpoints.
# umount /mount_point
Note:
Comment out or remove any Veritas File System (VxFS) entries from the file system table /etc/vfstab. Failing to remove these entries can result in system boot problems later.
- Stop all applications from accessing VxVM volumes, and close all volumes.
- For Solaris 11.1 or later, if DMP native support is enabled, DMP controls the ZFS root pool. Turn off native support before removing Veritas InfoScale.
# vxdmpadm settune dmp_native_support=off
Note:
If you do not disable native support, the system cannot be restarted after you remove DMP.
- Stop any Veritas daemons that are running.
- Remove the packages in the following order:
