Installing maintenance release packages
The Maintenance Release page lets you install maintenance releases on multiple appliances, simultaneously.
To install a maintenance release package
- On the Home page, select the appliances that you want to install. All selected appliances must use the same software version. After completing the appliance selections, click Manage > Maintenance Release.
- On the Install MR package page (1 Confirm appliance selection), review and verify the displayed information for the appliances that you selected on the Home page. If the list is correct, click Next.
To make any changes, go back to the Home page and make them. Return to this page to verify your selections and click Next.
- On the refreshed page (2 Select MR package), click Install to start the package installation and navigate to the Activity Monitor page. The packages that are applicable and available for the NetBackup versions on the selected appliances appear in the Selected package column.
Note:
Only one package can be selected.
- On the Activity monitor page, expand the row of an appliance to observe the step by step progress of the installation progress.
AMS performs the following activities sequentially:
Downloads the MR package. This step is skipped if the package already exists on the selected appliances.
Installs the MR package, which includes a preflight check and a pre-install self-test. A pre-install checkpoint is created, so that if there are any errors during the process, the installation is aborted and the appliance is restored to the checkpoint.
The state appears as Successful when the process completes.
Maintenance release packages can be installed using AMS 1.4.1 onwards.
A maintenance release package cannot be applied to the AMS appliance itself.
The agent version of an appliance must also be upgraded to 1.4.1, otherwise, the following error is displayed on the Activity Monitor after the installation process is initiated:
V-409-919-1802: The node-update task is not supported for this appliance configuration. This problem could be related to older agent version. Review the AMS documentation to find out minimum requirements for node-update task. Error: Playbook not defined.
