Pause secondary operation fails when SQLIO is used for I/Os
A pause replication operation with checkpoints from the Secondary host may fail for heavy I/Os and low-bandwidth network. If the request of the Secondary for rlink checkpoint for Pause to Primary times out before the Primary acknowledges the request, the pause operation fails. (1276014)
Workaround:
To avoid this issue, perform one of the following tasks:
Pause the secondary RVG by selecting the Pause Secondary option from the secondary RVG context menu. If it fails, slow down the I/O to the Primary host and retry. The Secondary-initiated pause lets you specify a checkpoint and maintains the connection between Primary and Secondary.
Select the Pause Secondaries from Primary option from the Primary RVG context menu. If it succeeds, it can be used instead of using the pause replication from the Secondary host. In a Primary-initiated pause, the Secondary host gets disconnected and checkpoints cannot be specified.
