Description

In order for Alta SaaS Protection (ASP) to synchronize with Microsoft Entra Admin Center, ASP must have the Client ID and Client Secret Value of a registered app. The Client Secret has an expiration based on what was selected during creation. When the Client Secret expires, it will need to be renewed, as follows:

  1. Log in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center with your Microsoft credentials.
  2. On the left hand side, go to Identity -> Overview and take note of the Primary Domain.  This will be needed at the end of the process.

  3. On the left hand side, expand Identity -> Applications, then select App registrations.
  4. Select the Directory Synchronization app registration created previously in How to Enable Directory Synchronization and select the app (e.g., ASP Directory Provider)
  5. Note the Application (client) ID for the app.  This will be needed at the end of the process.

  6. Click Certificates & secrets followed by New registration.
  7. Choose the +New client secret button, then enter the Description as ASP Directory Provider. Choose 24 months as the Expiration and then click Add.

  8. After clicking Add, it will immediately show the Client Secret Value.  It’s very important to copy and save the Value before exiting this page, otherwise the key cannot be retrieved and a new one will need to be created.

  9. Contact Technical Support with the following information and request the Client Secret be updated (add this Article as a reference to the support case).

  • Primary Domain Name
  • Application ID
  • Client Secret Value
