Issue: Access Appliance impacted by Linux Kernel Use-After-Free Vulnerability – CISA KEV CVE-2024-1086

Linux kernel contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the netfilter: nf_tables component that allows an attacker to achieve local privilege escalation.

• Note: Version 8.1 and earlier are not affected as User namespaces are disabled preventing exploitation.

Recommended Action:

• Apply Security Patch for Access Appliance OS 8.2 from Download Center.
  Alternate Mitigation:  Enabling STIG disables user namespaces preventing exploitation.
