Summary

Multiple vulnerabilities, stemming from out of date third party software, are present in binaries required for collecting from Infinidat InfiniBox and Infinidat InfiniGuard.

Issue

A large number of CVEs have been identified as present in the adapter/adapter.exe binaries used to collect from Infinidat products, including one Critical vulnerability in openssl (CVE-2016-0799).

Prerequisites

Either of the Infinidat collectors must be installed.

Affected Versions

Veritas NetBackup IT Analytics versions 11.0, 11.1, 11.2. Earlier unsupported versions of APTARE IT Analytics may be affected as well.

Remediation

Customers under a current maintenance contract should upgrade their Veritas NetBackup IT Analytics to version 11.1.11 or 11.2.04 or later, which will remove the binaries. Collection from Infinidat equipment will stop, but existing data collected from Infinidat equipment will be retained. When updated versions of the binaries from Infinidat are available, an update to IT Analytics may be issued which reinstates them.
