Versions Affected: NetBackup 8.1.2, 8.2, 8.3, 8.3.0.1, 8.3.0.2, 9.0, 9.0.0.1, 9.1, 9.1.0.1, 10.0, 10.0.0.1, 10.1, 10.1.1
Hotfix EEB Installation Location: Primary Server
This Hotfix EEB contains the following fix:
o A change to the nbdb_unload CLI to improve performance.
o A significant speedup of the nbdb-utf8-check utility can be achieved by installing this EEB.
o An update to the nbdb_unload CLI to fix error code 20 (versions <= NBA 5.0.0.1, or NBU 10.0.0.1).
Note: Each NetBackup Version zip file in the Downloads section contains the EEB for all supported master/primary server versions, including NetBackup Appliance and Flex Appliance EEB rpms. Download the zip file for the NetBackup version being upgraded to NetBackup 10.2 and extract and install the appropriate EEB for the relevant OS platform.
Note: The nbdb-utf8-check utility calls nbdb_unload. Click NetBackup UTF-8 Checker Tool | Veritas to obtain the nbdb-utf8-check utility which is required to be run prior to upgrade to 10.2. For NetBackup Appliances, the AURA tool contains the latest UTF-8 Checker tool.
Install this EEB hotfix under these conditions:
- If you will be upgrading your Primary Server to NetBackup 10.2 or above.
- If you have a large NetBackup environment and see slow performance executing nbdb_unload at the command line.
- Note: Once the EEB is installed on a windows master/primary server, if you must unload to a shared drive, the NetBackup Relational Database Manager must be given permission to write to the shared drive location.
Installation Instructions:
Each zip file in the Downloads section contains the EEB for all supported master/primary server versions, including NetBackup Appliance and Flex Appliance EEB rpms. Download the zip file for the NetBackup version being upgraded to NetBackup 10.2 and extract and install the appropriate EEB for the relevant OS platform.
Note: NetBackup services can remain running during the installation of this EEB.
