Enterprise Vault 14.4.1 - Maintenance Release
Abstract
Description
This release update is supplied with an installer for the Enterprise Vault, Compliance Accelerator / Advanced Supervision, and Discovery Accelerator components.
You must install all the Enterprise Vault and Accelerator components that are applicable to your Enterprise Vault environment to ensure that they are deployed correctly.
Before you install Enterprise Vault 14.4.1:
- Back up all Enterprise Vault data in accordance with your normal backup procedures. See the Backup and Recovery guide.
- Allow the MSMQ queues to empty.
- To allow time to examine the new installation before archiving starts, you may want to disable archiving and expiry before you install this release. You can enable archiving and expiry again when you have checked the installation.
- If Compliance Accelerator and Discovery Accelerator installations exist in the environment, those installations must be upgraded before upgrading Enterprise Vault.
Caution:
- Do not upgrade to Enterprise Vault 14.4 and then immediately install Enterprise Vault 14.4.1. After you have upgraded to Enterprise Vault 14.4, use the PowerShell cmdlet Start-EVDatabaseUpgrade to upgrade all Enterprise Vault databases as described in the Enterprise Vault 14.3 Upgrade Instructions, and then install Enterprise Vault 14.4.1.
- You cannot uninstall Enterprise Vault 14.4.1 from a clustered environment.
- Before upgrading to Enterprise Vault 14.4.1, it is strongly recommended that you take a snapshot of your index data. If you face any potential issues after upgrading to version 14.4.1 and want to return to an earlier version (such as 14.4), you must have a snapshot of your index data. Note that Elasticsearch does not support version downgrades.
You must install this release on all of the following:
- Enterprise Vault servers, including updating the EV API binaries on all standalone Compliance Accelerator and Discovery Accelerator servers
- Servers on which the Enterprise Vault SharePoint components are installed (SharePoint Server 2013 and 2016 only)
- Servers on which the Enterprise Vault Reporting components are installed.
- Enterprise Vault Domino Gateway servers.
- Remote computers on which the Enterprise Vault Administration Console is installed.
