NetBackup Flex Scale 3.2.100 is a full release that includes 3.2.  3.1/3.2 customers can upgrade directly to 3.2.100. After upgrading to 3.2.100 make sure to install required 3.2.100 HotFixes. Also make sure you have the latest MSDP bundles listed in required 3.2 HotFixes. The older MSDP bundles should first be uninstalled before installing the latest MSDP bundles. Also make sure you have the latest firmware updates for 5551 and 5561 appliances installed.

If upgrading from 3.1, customers should first contact Veritas Support and mention article 100072466. Veritas Support will make sure all requirements are met before upgrade to 3.2.100 can proceed.

You must run the pre-check before upgrading to 3.2.100. See the Upgrading NetBackup Flex Scale to 3.2.100 chapter in Flex Scale Installation and Configuration guide.

If upgrading from 3.2, make sure you have installed the HotFix for RHEL8 lockd kernel issue before upgrading. This HotFix can be found in required 3.2 HotFixes.

If upgrading from 3.2, and not currently using (or don't plan on using) Instant Access and/or Universal Shares, make sure you have installed this NFSv3 HotFix before upgrading. 

3.2.100 includes several important fixes in the areas of security, stability, reliability and user experience. All NetBackup Flex Scale customers are strongly recommended to upgrade to 3.2.100.

   • Includes 200+ RHEL 8.8 vulnerabilities fixes. This ensures robust protection for your data environment against emerging threats.
2. Improved Platform Stability and Operational Efficiency
   • Self-Healing in case of memory contention & disk failures management, thus providing a smoother and more robust operational experience.
3. Streamlined Upgrade Experience
   • Options for rolling and parallel upgrade are back again, including Hotfix installation and rollback fixes, handling various niche upgrade pre-checks and failures, along with automatic synchronization of software packages during node updates, thus contributes to a more efficient upgrade process.
4. Enhanced Resource Allocation for Primary server:
   • In certain scenarios, an option can be used to allocate dedicated resources to Primary server node, for improved performance and reliability. This ensures optimal resource utilization within the cluster.
