Bare Metal Restore Third-Party Products CD (3PPCD)

This CD contains a collection of third-party open-source products used by VERITAS Bare Metal Restore (tm).

This collection includes files that are used when constructing a Shared Resource Tree for Linux clients. The bmrsrtadm program uses these files.

This collection is formatted as an ISO-9660 CD image. After you download this image, you may either burn it to CD media using any standard CD mastering tool or save it to a file where bmrsrtadm may use it directly.

The software included in this CD image is not a VERITAS product and is licensed under the terms of the GNU Public License. Your usage of VERITAS products is governed by the license agreement accompanying the VERITAS product.

Veritas updates the third-party components in 3PPCD to their respective recent releases from time to time. Veritas recommends using the latest possible version of 3PPCD while creating new SRTs. In addition, Veritas allows the user to use existing SRTs created using older versions of 3PPCD. During the first SRT creation BMR places the 3PPCD content at the following location /usr/openv/netbackup/baremetal/server/data/media/3PPCD/ where the user provides the 3PPCD. For subsequent SRT creation, we use the content from this location. If this location is empty due to certain reasons, bmrsrtadm asks for 3PPCD during SRT creation. When the user upgrades the boot servers to version 8.3 or later and tries to create SRT then BMR checks the OS version of the SRT, verifies the mentioned location content, cleans the area, and asks for 3PPCD.

The BMR SRT administration wizard might disallow the 3PPCD versions. As it depends upon the compatibility with the Operation System version of SRT being created.
