Configuring Windows firewall exceptions for Veritas System Recovery Monitor
Before you start Veritas System Recovery Monitor, configure the Windows firewall program and port exceptions on both the host computer and the client computer.
To configure Windows firewall port exceptions
- Click Start > Run, and type firewall.cpl.
- On the left-pane, click Advanced Settings.
- Select the Inbound Rules option.
- On the left-pane, click New rule.
- Perform the following steps to configure the Windows firewall port exceptions:
Under Rule Type, select the Port option.
Click Next.
Select the TCP option.
Select the Specific local ports option.
In the Specific local ports field, enter 135 as the default port number.
Click Next.
Select the Allow the connection option.
Click Next.
Do not modify the default settings.
Click Next.
In the Rule field, specify a name for the rule.
Click Finish.
- Perform the following steps to configure the Windows firewall program exceptions:
Under Rule Type, select the Program option.
Click Next.
Select the This Program Path option.
For Veritas System Recovery, browse to the following location where
Vprosvc.exe
is installed by default:C:\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery\Agent\Vprosvc.exe
Select the Allow the connection option.
Click Next.
Do not modify the default settings.
Click Next.
In the Rule field, specify a name for the rule.
Click Finish.
