Additional guidelines for NetApp and Dell EMC Celerra file servers
The FSA Agent is not present on a non-Windows file server. An FSA Reporting proxy server must perform the FSA Reporting scans and data collection. FSA Reporting can therefore take longer to scan multiple volumes on multiple NetApp and Celerra file servers, compared with Windows file servers.
If you enable FSA Reporting on several non-Windows file servers in an Enterprise Vault site, the role of FSA Reporting proxy server can require significant resources.
To share the load, from Enterprise Vault 9.0 onwards any of the following can act as an FSA Reporting proxy server, subject to the necessary prerequisites:
An Enterprise Vault server in the Enterprise Vault site.
A Windows file server that is configured as a file server archiving target in the Enterprise Vault site.
A Windows server on the network.

Follow this additional deployment guideline if you perform FSA Reporting scans on NetApp or Celerra file servers:
In an Enterprise Vault site with multiple NetApp and Celerra file servers, we recommend that you use multiple FSA Reporting proxy servers, so that Enterprise Vault can spread the proxy server resource load.
We recommend that the proxy server is on the same network segment as the non-Windows file server.
Note:
If you upgrade to any version of Enterprise Vault 9.0 from an earlier release you can reassign proxy servers after the upgrade, if you want.

Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 and later supports archiving from NetApp C-Mode filers. To use FSA Reporting on NetApp C-Mode filers, you must have the Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 or later FSA Agent installed on the FSA Reporting proxy server.
