Managing FIPS mode from the deduplication shell
You can use FIPS mode on a WORM storage server to conform to the Federal Information Process Standards (FIPS) 140-2. Use the following procedures to manage FIPS mode.
Viewing the FIPS mode
To check if FIPS mode is enabled or disabled
- Open an SSH session to the server as the msdpadm user.
- Run the following command:
setting FIPS status
Enabling FIPS mode
To enable FIPS mode
- Open an SSH session to the server as the msdpadm user.
- Run the following command:
setting FIPS enable
Disabling FIPS mode
To disable FIPS mode
- Open an SSH session to the server as the msdpadm user.
- Run the following command:
setting FIPS disable
