About restoring MongoDB data
For restore you require a backup host. Backup hosts can be a primary server, a media server, or a NetBackup client.
The following diagram provides an overview of the restore flow.
The diagram describes the following process:
The restore job is triggered from the primary server.
The backup host connects with the
config
server. Backup host is also the destination client.The actual data restore from the storage media starts.
The data blocks are restored on the MongoDB cluster.
