Installing Management Server on Linux (on premises and cloud)
You can install the Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager Management Server on a Linux host using the following file:
For Management server along with the add-ons:
Veritas_InfoScale_Operations_Manager_MS_8.0.2_Linux_Full.bin
The .bin
file installs the VRTSsfmcs
and the VRTSsfmh
packages on the target host.
Note:
By default, the VRTSsfmcs
and the VRTSsfmh
packages are installed in the /opt
directory. You cannot specify a different location to install the packages.
You can install Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager Management Server on AWS, Azure, and Google cloud. The procedure for installing Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager Management Server on AWS, Azure, and Google cloud is same as follows.
To install Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager Management Server on Linux
- Make sure that the host where you plan to install Management Server meets or exceeds system and operating system requirements.
- Download and unzip the installation file.
- Open an operating system console.
- On the host where you plan to install Management Server, log on as root.
- Change directory to the location where you unzipped the
.bin
file. - At the command prompt, enter the following directory:
./Veritas_InfoScale_Operations_Manager_MS_8.0.2_Linux_Full.bin
If you see the Permission Denied error, change the permissions for the
.bin
file. To change the permission, run the appropriate command:chmod +x Veritas_InfoScale_Operations_Manager_MS_8.0.2_Linux_Full.bin
- To accept the End User License Agreement and proceed with installation, type y.
The installation is complete when you see messages similar to the following:
Installation is complete. You will need to configure Veritas Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager Management Server.
Please open your browser and type the following URL to configure:
https://myhost.example.com:5634/
or, run"/opt/VRTSsfmh/bin/perl /opt/VRTSsfmcs/bin/cli_cms_config.pl" command in your terminal.
Please skip this step if you intend to use this host as a standby node for Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager Management Server HA.
- Verify that the packages are installed and the processes are started.
- Configure Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager.
