Configuring dependent services
If the database service has other dependent services, make sure the dependent services are running on the node where the database service is online. Note that the online agent operation brings only the database service online and not the dependent services.
For example, the DBConsole service corresponding to an Oracle database has a dependency on the database service. That is, for the Enterprise Manager to manage the databases, you must make sure the DBConsole service is running on the node where the database service is online.
To configure a dependent service
- For the dependent service, add a GenericService resource manually.
- Make the GenericService resource dependent on the corresponding Oracle resource.
- Set the Critical attribute to False if the Oracle service group must not fail over when the GenericService resource faults.
Refer to the Cluster Server Administrator's Guide for configuration instructions.
