Configuring retention categories
Skype for Business targets use retention categories to define the length of time conversations are retained in the archive.
When you create a Skype for Business target using the Administration Console, you are prompted to choose a retention category or a retention plan. If no suitable category or plan is available, you can create one. If you use PowerShell, you must specify the settings for an existing retention category or retention plan. This means that one must already exist in order to create the target.
