NetBackup Appliance Release Cycle until End of Support Life (EOSL)

Description

NetBackup Appliance models 5250 and 5350 have reached end-of-sale. Veritas will continue to provide hardware and software support for 5350 model until December 31, 2028, and for 5250 model until June 30, 2029. Customers can expect an annual major release for NetBackup Appliance software. Currently, releases are planned to occur in the 4th quarter of the calendar year or early in the 1st quarter until the end-of-support-life (EOSL) date. 

Releases will include the content from the latest NetBackup major release.  Since NetBackup currently has two major releases annually, the impact is NetBackup Appliances will have a corresponding release for every other NetBackup release.  For example, the NetBackup Appliance release, version 5.3 included the NetBackup 10.3 release.  There was no NetBackup Appliance release for NetBackup 10.4.  The next release of NetBackup Appliance 5.5* is targeted for January 2024**, will contain NetBackup 10.5*.
