PART 1: Creating PGP Key
1. Download Gpg4win from: https://www.gpg4win.org/get-gpg4win.html
*On the download page, select $0, then click Download
2. Install Gpg4win after download. Gpg4win installs the Kleopatra software for key management.
3. Launch Kleopatra:
4. Select File > New OpenPGP Key Pair...
5. On the Create OpenPGP Certificate window, enter a Name and Email address. Select Protect the generated key with a passphrase.
6. Click Advanced Settings
7. In the Advanced Settings window, select RSA. Leave the default settings and click OK.
8. Click OK on the Create OpenPGP Certificate window, this will open the passphrase window:
9. Enter a password and click OK to generate the Key:
10. Click OK on the successful Key creation window:
11. The new Key will appear in the Kleopatra window, right click on the new Key and select Export This will be your Public key.
12. Save the Key with the default .asc extension:
13. Right click on the Key again and select Backup Secret Keys... This will be your Private Key.
14. Save the Key with the default .asc extension:
15. Click OK on the Secret Key Backup creation window:
PART 2: Providing information to Bloomberg
Bloomberg requires three pieces of information:
- Name & Email address. This can be anyone that receives notifications from Bloomberg
- IP addresses to whitelist
- Public PGP Key (created in step 12 above)
1. The IP addresses for Veritas Alta Capture can be located HERE
- Scroll to the section for your Data Center
- Locate the IP addresses for Bloomberg & Alta Capture Bloomberg
- Note down the addresses listed, you will be providing these to Bloomberg
2. You now have the required information to send to Bloomberg. Contact Bloomberg and provide them with the following:
- Name & Email address for the person that will receive notifications from Bloomberg.
- The IP addresses found in Part 2 Step 1.
- The Public PGP Key created in Part 1 Step 12.
3. Once Bloomberg receives the above info, they will create the FTP site and will provide you the FTP site info. This will be needed to complete the remaining steps.
PART 3: Configuring the Bloomberg Collector
1. Open Veritas Alta View Compliance & Governance
2. Select Archive Collectors
3. Click Add collector
4. Locate and select the "Bloomberg" collector, this will open the Configuration Wizard
5. In the Configuration Wizard, enter the Host, Port, and Path provided by Bloomberg (Path is typically a forward slash / ). Set Connection type to PASV
6. Select Use security and set it to SSH
7. Under Authentication, enter the Username and Password provided by Bloomberg. Click Test Connection. If connection is successful, a green check is displayed:
8. Under the Options, set Maintain history of downloaded files to 0 (Infinite).
9. Under the PGP section, select Use PGP decryption and expand the PGP Decryption Options:
10. Click Import Private Key. This opens the Import PGP Private Key window:
11. Browse to the Private Key created in Part 1 Step 14 above, right click and Open with Notepad
12. Click Ctrl+A then click Ctrl+C
13. Return to the Import PGP Private Key window and Paste the info into the Private Key box
14. For the Password, use the Passphrase you provided in step 8 above.
15. Click Import
16. Click Next to save the configuration
17. Click Skip until you reach the Targets tab
18. Provide a Target name. In the drop down box, select SMTP target
19. Click Add
20. Under Main Settings, enter the SMTP Server address specific to your data center. Address shown below is specific to USW03. Enter port 25 if not already entered:
21. Under Envelope fill out the following:
- From: Can be any SMTP address.
- To: Needs to be a valid Alta Archiving journal address. Note: When requesting a journal address via support, you will specify that it should be of mail server type Bloomberg.
- Construct Envelope Messages: Select
22. Under Authentication Encryption, select Use TLS Encryption and click Test Connection. A green check is displayed when successful:
23. Click Next
24. Click Next again on the Targets tab:
25. On the Settings tab, expand Importer Schedule. Select the times for the Importer to run, typically Monday – Friday.
26. Click Save & Finish to complete the configuration
