Impact of Internet Explorer end of support on Veritas Enterprise Vault, Compliance Accelerator, and Discovery Accelerator
Description
This article provides an overview of the impact of Internet Explorer (IE) end of support on Veritas Enterprise Vault, Compliance Accelerator, and Discovery Accelerator.
Note: This article applies to Veritas Enterprise Vault, Compliance Accelerator, and Discovery Accelerator. Hereafter in this article, these products are collectively referred to as "Veritas Products".
Objective
Test and analyze potential impacts on the Veritas Products when running in the environment where Internet Explorer (IE) is disabled.
Background
Internet Explorer is a component of the Windows operating system (OS).
Internet Explorer (IE) 11 desktop application ended support for certain operating systems on June 15, 2022.
You can still access older, legacy sites that require IE with the IE mode in Microsoft Edge. The IE desktop application will progressively redirect to the faster, more secure Microsoft Edge browser and will ultimately be disabled via Windows Update.
Customers are encouraged to move to the Microsoft Edge with IE mode. This will enable backward compatibility.

Solution
Our tests did not detect any impact or other issues in this environment and all the functionalities worked as expected when Internet Explorer (IE) is disabled, and Microsoft Edge is installed and configured as the default browser.
The following link contains the documented steps to Disable Internet Explorer.

Note: Uninstallation or removal of Internet Explorer (IE) is not supported by Veritas Products.
