This article will provide an overview of how to restore/export data from within the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection Admin Portal.  

1. Log into the Admin Portal and choose the Content tile

2. Once in the Content section, choose the correct Stor where the data resides.  Then browse to the folder or item to be downloaded. Select the folder or item and then click the Restore button. 

 

3. Complete the options in the Restore dialog box based on the Restore Type.  For Mailbox data, the following options are available: 

Restore Type:  Automatically selected based on the Stor type.  In this example, we are restoring data from a Mailbox Stor so it selected 'Email'. 

Destination: This list is populated based on the configuration of the Export Service.   

Mailbox email address: Pre-populated with the mailbox that was selected within the Content path.

Merge active mailbox: When enabled, this option simply collapses the “Active Mailbox” location during the restore so that the folders in the active mailbox are merged into the destination mailbox. This would be used when exporting data from one mailbox to a different mailbox. 

Folder path: This is optional.  Used when you do not want to restore the folder/file into the default location. In this example, the 'Active Mailbox' was chosen as the source.  So if no folder path is specified, the restore will put the data in that folder in the destination mailbox. Otherwise, a different folder path can be entered. 

Additional settings:

Suppress duplicates: Recommended to leave enabled.

Only restore regular sent messages:  This option should be disabled when exporting Calendar appointments, otherwise, leave it enabled.  

Force Overwrite: Will overwrite the message if it already exists in the destination

Choose either: Restore all, Point in Time, Specific Range

 

 

Restoring SharePoint/OneDrive data 

In the example below, we are restoring the 'Documents' folder from a OneDrive site:

 

Site collection URL: The base of the Site Collection will auto-populate based on the SP/OD site that is selected as shown above. 

In the event that a specific folder or file needs to be restored, use the Browse button to choose where to restore the data.  


Note: The same must be done if the entire site needs to be restored to a newly created Site.

4. When all options have been configured, click the Restore button to begin the restore.  An email notification will be sent when the restore has completed.
