Description

In this article, we'll walk through creating a Tagging Policy that applies one or more Tags.

To understand what can be achieved with Tags in Veritas Alta SaaS Protection, see  Understanding DLP in Veritas Alta SaaS Protection. For instructions on creating tags, see How to Create Tagging Policies and Apply DLP Tags.

To create a Tagging Policy, follow these steps:

Step 1 -- Navigate to Tagging Policies

In the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection Admin Portal, select ' Tagging' and then the ' Tagging Policies' tab.

Step 2 -- Create Policy

First, select the Stor to which the tagging policy will be applied.  Tagging policies exist at the Stor level, so you must set a Stor scope.  Next, click ' Add Policy'.

Upon clicking ' Add Policy', you'll be presented the Policy Properties window.
Provide a Policy Name.
Determine if it will run in 'Preview' or 'Production' mode

NOTE: It is always a good idea to configure policies in Preview mode at first. This will allow your policies to run, gather statistics, and give you visibility (via the Policies dashboard) to have a risk-free way of seeing what coverage / impact your policy will have before you run them.  You can come back to a policy at any time and change its status between Preview / Production, or Enabled / Disabled.

Click 'Apply' to create the policy.

Step 3 -- Configure Policy Criteria

To add selection criteria, expand the tagging policy of interest and click ' Add Clause'.

For more information on policy clauses, see  How Policies Work in Veritas Alta SaaS Protection.

Make sure to click ' Apply' to save your changes.

Step 4 -- Configure Output DLP Tags

' Output DLP Tags' is where you associate one or more of your Tags to the policy.  Select the ' Output DLP Tags' tab on a tagging policy, and click ' Add Tag'.

This will display the list of DLP Tags.  Select one and click ' OK'.  Repeat if you wish to apply multiple tags to the policy.

Make sure to click ' Apply' to save your changes.

NOTE: If the policy is configured to run in Production mode, all items meeting the policy's selection criteria will have the Tag applied to them.  If the Tag has associated tag behaviors, these behaviors will apply to the items as well.

Additional Information

Your tagging policy will execute according to the policy evaluation interval that is configured in your Veritas Alta SaaS Protection environment.  For instructions on viewing or modifying the policy interval, see  How to Configure the Policy Evaluation Interval in Veritas Alta SaaS Protection.
