If you have access to the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection Admin Portal, you can download the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection Connector Service installer by going to '
Administration' and then '
Tools & Utilities'.
Step 1 -- Run the Installer
Open the HCS installer file '
Veritas.NSP.ConnectorService.msi'. This will open the install wizard on the welcome step.
Click '
Next' to proceed.
Step 2 -- Acceptable Use Policy
You will need to read and accept the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) before proceeding. Of special note, you have rights to use Veritas Alta SaaS Protection installable software in your organization as long as your subscription to Veritas Alta SaaS Protection is active. Step 4 -- Install Path
Optionally change the install path.

Step 5 -- Execute the Installation
Click 'Install' to execute the installation.
The install execution performs automatic start of the HCS Windows service.
When installation is complete, click 'Finish'.
Step 6 -- Launch the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection Connector Service GUI
Go to the Start menu, find the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection Connector Service app, and open it.
Step 7 -- Configure the Connection to Veritas Alta SaaS Protection
When launching the HCS app, it will open the '
Configuration' section. It will require the StorSite Web Service URL along with the credentials of the account that is configured with API authorization into Veritas Alta SaaS Protection. This account is generated automatically when the tenant is provisioned by Veritas Alta SaaS Protection and an email with this account information is sent to the technical contacts. It will contain the credentials for the connector service, retrieval service, and fulladmin accounts. It will not contain the last 4 characters of the password so if it's the first time configuring the services, contact support for the last 4 characters of the password.
Optionally, this account can be the same as the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection service account you configured for the HCS to run in your domain as long as directory synchronization completed. For more information on API authorization, see

Click '
Save' after entering the connection information.
