Description
Use the following procedure to install an EEB on an Access 3340 Appliance.
Installing EEBs on an Access appliance
Use a computer that is connected to the appliance and the Internet to complete the following steps:
- Open an SSH session and log on to the appliance node as the
admin
user. - In the Access Appliance shell menu, use the following command to open NFS and CIFS shares:
Main_Menu > Manage > Software > Share Open
- On the local computer, complete the following steps:
- Mount or map the NFS or CIFS share.
For NFS, mount the NFS share:<Node_management_IP>:/inst/patch/incoming
For CIFS, map the CIFS share:\\<Node_management_IP>\incoming_patches
where<Node_management_IP>
is the IP address that is assigned to the eth1 network interface of each node. - Contact Veritas Support to get the EEB.
- Copy the EEB from your local computer to the mapped directory.
- Unmount or unmap the share.
- Mount or map the NFS or CIFS share.
- In the Access Appliance shell menu, enter the following command to close the NFS and the CIFS shares:
Main_Menu > Manage > Software > Share Close
- To display the list of downloaded updates, enter the following command. Make a note of the EEB that you want to install.
Main_Menu > Manage > Software > List Downloaded
- Install the EEB:
Main_Menu > Manage > Software > Install <patch_name>
where<patch_name>
is the name of the EEB that you want to install. Ensure that the name you enter matches the name of the EEB that was downloaded to the appliance.
The following message is displayed after the EEB is installed successfully:
[Info] Successfully installed the EEB <patch_name>.
You can also use theManage > Software > List EEBs
command to verify that the EEB you installed is displayed in the list of installed EEBs.
