Performing Exports in Veritas Advanced eDiscovery
Prerequisites
Account Permissions
A user must have eDiscovery Archive Access to be a Veritas Advanced eDiscovery (VAD) user.
Contact your Veritas Alta Archiving administrator who can grant you access to this portal.
A user must have at least Reviewer access.
Export Options for VAD Users
- The ability to export is defined by the archive account role, as follows:
A standard VAD user can Search and Export their own emails -
- A VAD user with Reviewer access and Monitor all accounts or with selected Accounts to monitor can Search and Export all the emails they are granted access to -
- A VAD user with Administrator access and Monitor all accounts can export all the mails in the Archive

Process
Create a Saved Search
Create a new Export within a saved Search
Create a Saved Search
- Perform a custodian Search
- Save the search
- Name the search
- Can also assign the results to a tag if the search is on-going:

- Go to Investigations > My Mailbox > Saved Searches > Standard Searches -
- Open the Saved Searches
- Select the export option from the toolbar to export the mails -
- This example is exporting all the mails from a Saved Search
- Select the customizable options for the export
The Message format for the export in this example is Exchange PST format

Once you click Export Items, the export has started Go to Investigations > Exports
If the Export is Completed the Download URL will be populated in the Export Details
If the Export status is Queued, please wait
Once completed the Export remains downloadable for 2 weeks
Perform a Custodian Export (Investigations)
- Perform a custodian search
- Same process as above except when in advanced search choose either all or selected custodians (selecting the user(s) that are available)
- The custodians specified here will form the scope of the search
