Problem
Adding, or removing, LUNs from an LDOM causes vxconfigd to core dump due to a null pointer dereference. Vxconfigd may fail to restart until the system is rebooted.

Cause
The problem is caused when LUNs are presented to the guest domain using PowerPath, which is a Third Party Driver (TPD). Similarly, MPxIO can cause this issue. Third Party Drivers are not supported for presentation of LUNs to the guest domain in any version of Storage Foundation, or Infoscale products. There are no plans to support TPDs for this use case in future releases.
Solution
Third party multi-pathing drivers in a control/IO domain is not supported. We always recommend using a Storage Foundation (SF) stack in control/IO/guest domain.
For a guest-based stack, which requires that all paths to the devices be presented from the I/O domain to the guest, run the full SF stack in the guest. For the dual-stack, we support DMP in the I/O domains and the full SF stack (with another DMP) in the guests to perform I/O domain failover.
