V-Ray license count includes hosts that are not part of the backup process but exist in a single vcentre

Problem

In an environment where a single vCenter server manages hosts in different Datacenters, and only the ESXi hosts associated with one Datacenter are subject to backup protection by Backup Exec, then the V-Ray license count will report a total requirement based on all the hosts attached to the vCenter and not just those that are part of backup operations. This can then cause the Backup Exec license screen to report that the installation is under-licensed

Solution

Veritas Technologies LLC has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) listed under the Product(s) Section of this article. Veritas Technologies LLC is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.
 
This issue is currently under investigation by Veritas Technologies LLC. Pending the outcome of the investigation, this issue may be resolved by way of a patch or hotfix in current or future revisions of the software.
