Problem

Attempting a NetBackup DB2 backup fails with a "SQL2071N An error occurred while accessing the shared library "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbdb2.so64". Reason code: "2"." error message.

Solution

Troubleshooting:
Review the bphdb logfile on the DB2 server, along with the DB2 standard outputfile.

From the DB2 standardoutput file (found in the /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bphdb/ directory, bydefault):  

SQL2071N  An erroroccurred while accessing the sharedlibrary  
"/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbdb2.so64".Reason code: "2".  

Resolution:
The errormessage in the DB2 standard output file indicates NetBackup is attempting toload the 64 bit library.  If the server is running the 32 bit version ofthe NetBackup 32-bit DB2 extension, this error is generated.  Change thebackup script to load the 32 bit ( nbdb2.sl) library.
