How to gather NetBackup/Access/Flex/Flex Scale appliances Serial Number via command line or physical inspection
Description
How to gather NetBackup Appliance head unit or shelf serial number via command line interface, also known as the CLISH, or Command Line Interface Shell.52x0/53x0 Netbackup Appliance:
Version 2.7.x/3.x/4.x:
Appliance Head Unit:
- Login to CLISH with admin account
<appliance_name>.Main_Menu> Monitor
<appliance_name>.Monitor> Hardware ShowHealth Appliance Product

Additionally, we can also check the Appliance serial number by logging to the Appliance Web console by connecting through the IP address of the appliance.
For All Veritas Appliances (Physical Inspection):
If the commands above does not return a result, there is a sticker on the back of the hardware with the serial number.

Note: For Flex Scale devices that are not Veritas specific devices, please refer to the manufacturer's documentation on how to locate the SN for the system.
For Seagate 2U12 storage shelves there will be a pull out tab that will indicate the shelf serial number.
For Dell 2U12 storage shelves there will also be a pull out tab that will indicate the Service Tab and Express Service Code which is Dell's equivalent of a serial number.
For 5U84 storage shelves the serial number will be on the back bottom right of the chassis.
