Solution
A potential cause of this error:
This issue appears when the Direct Access Restore [DAR] option is disabled on the NetApp Filer. To check if this is the cause, connect to the Filer using Telnet and type "options" and Hit enter.
Check if you see the following entry :
ndmpd.offset_map.enable off
To be able to restore a Directory from NDMP backups, you need to have Direct Access Restore [DAR] option enabled on the Filer. To enable the option on the filer, type this command using telnet :
options ndmpd.offset_map.enable on
for more information about the Direct Access Restore feature, please refer to your NDMP Manufacturers guide.
Note : To restore any directory from the NDMP backup set that was performed without the DAR option enabled, follow these steps:
1. In the restore Job properties, Click on NDMP option.
2. Uncheck "Enable Direct Access Restore" option and run the restore. Disabling this option will allow you to restore the Directory but with a very slow speed. For more information refer to Backup Exec Administrator's guide.
