Problem

The following error message may be encountered when using spauser.exe utility to change password for logon account of a Deduplication storage folder.

Error Message

Error: 67: Database: connection to database crdb at localhost:10085 failed (could not connect to server: Connection refused <0x0000274D/10061>

Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 10085?) 

Error: 53: Database Manager: Could not access Storage database (connection actively refused)

Error: 4: Failed to run database class

Error: 4: Failed to read startup mode

Error: -1: configManager ->init failed!

 

Cause

The above error may occur for to couple of reasons:

# Port 10085 is blocked by firewall

# postgresql-8.3 service is stopped and not running

 

 

Solution

To resolve this issue perform the following steps:

1. Confirm that port 10085 is not blocked by any firewall and is open

2. Manually start the postgresql-8.3 service

Use the spauser.exe utility, found in the BE install folder, to change the password for Deduplication storage folder logon account.
