Cause

The DB upgrade file has master version string as “8.3.0” instead of “8.3”. So during upgrade it is put in BMR DB and used for version compatibility checks post upgrade.

This issues affects only NetBackup 8.3

Solution

Veritas engineering are aware of the above-mentioned issue (Etrack 4010741) for the version(s) of the product(s) mentioned in this article.

Veritas is committed to product quality and satisfied customers. This issue is currently being considered by Veritas to be addressed in a future revision of the product.

For the Veritas NetBackup 8.3 release, please contact NetBackup Support to obtain a NetBackup 8.3 Emergency Engineering Binary (EEB) to help resolve the problem.
