Enterprise Vault

Addition of the new 'View-only Administrator' RBA role for Enterprise Vault Administration Console

'View-only Administrator' is a new read-only role that enables users to only view the Enterprise Vault Exchange, Indexing, and Storage configurations from the Administration Console.

Support for migration of indexes

Two new PowerShell cmdlets - 'Export-EVIndexData' and 'Import-EVIndexData' - have been introduced in this release that enables you to migrate the indexes from one server to another. This ability ensures the smooth functioning of the index searches after the migration. Migration of index servers is supported only within the Enterprise Vault site boundary or index server group.

You are strongly recommended to refer to the latest PowerShell Cmdlets guide before migrating the indexes.

Support for Microsoft SharePoint Subscription edition

Support has been added for archiving content from SharePoint Subscription edition.

Support for Microsoft 365 Outlook on the Enterprise Vault server

You can now install Microsoft 365 Outlook on the Enterprise Vault server for Exchange archiving. Note that only the 32-bit version of Microsoft 365 Outlook is supported.

Support for Microsoft Edge for Enterprise Vault Search in the Outlook Integrated mode

In the Outlook Integrated mode, Enterprise Vault Search now supports Microsoft Edge. This enhancement ensures a seamless user experience without any complications when launching Enterprise Vault Search, particularly after the complete removal of Internet Explorer from the operating system.

Support for Microsoft Edge for the Enterprise Vault XML-based reports

Support for Microsoft Edge has been extended to various Enterprise Vault XML-based reports, including the Deployment scanner, NSF migration, PST migration, and SharePoint Shortcut Manager reports. This enhancement ensures a seamless user experience without any complications when launching Enterprise Vault XML-based reports, particularly after the complete removal of Internet Explorer from the operating system.

Indexing of large size item’s metadata

Enterprise Vault can now index metadata of large sized Microsoft Teams chat messages.

Updated version of the Veritas Information Classifier

Enterprise Vault 14.5 comes with an updated version of the Veritas Information Classifier engine 4.3.0, providing architectural improvements for better cloud support, TIKA ForkParser Integration for extraction of large files [BETA mode], new policies and policy enhancements, and other enhancements and defect fixes.

Sentiment score support

In Enterprise Vault, when Veritas Information Classifier (VIC) is enabled as part of the retention plan, the sentiments expressed in the textual content are analyzed and the sentiment score is generated at the item level, which measures attitudes, opinions, and emotions. The sentiment score value ranges from 0 to 100, where a 0-39 score represents negative sentiment, a 40-59 score represents neutral sentiment, and a 60-100 score represents positive sentiment. The Veritas Surveillance users can sort and filter items based on their sentiment scores.

Deleting departments

When a department is no longer required, it can be deleted along with all its associated objects, such as child departments, searches, research folders, and hotwords. The users with the Delete Department permission at the application level can delete any department. However, the users with department-specific permissions can only delete the departments they have been granted access to.

Microsoft Teams chats and channels support in sampling

Veritas Surveillance can randomly sample and capture the Microsoft Teams chats and channel items during sampling. The sampled Microsoft Teams chats and channel items are subsequently included in the review set.

Tags and hotwords statistics

Reviewers can view tags and hotwords statistics for the selected review item. This includes the tags, hotwords, and hotword sets count based on location (top level message or attachments). The Tags and the Hotwords sections of the Item Statistics pane enable users to navigate directly to the tags and hotword occurrences in the preview pane. Currently, the tags and the hotwords statistics support is limited to emails.

Base and upgrade installers

Click Base and upgrade installers to view the files associated with this product version. Check the box next to each file that you wish to download, then click Download. The Download button will appear once you check the first file. After you click Download, you may be prompted to select a Veritas Entitlement Management System (VEMS) account. If you are asked to select a VEMS account, select the account that you wish to be the account of record for your download transaction.

To download files in the Base and upgrade installers section:

• You must have a Veritas account. If you do not have a Veritas account, you can create one by clicking Sign in at the top of the page and then clicking Create one.
• Your Veritas account ID (email address) must be registered as a user of a VEMS account that holds an entitlement for the product with an Entitled Version (displayed in VEMS) that is greater than or equal to this product';s'; version.
• Your Veritas account ID must have either the VEMS Administrator or Download Software privilege.
• You must log in with this Veritas account. To log in, click Sign in.

Note: You may not be entitled to download all files listed as some Veritas product offerings entitle different file sets. For example, some product offerings vary by platform (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.). In these cases you will only be able to download files for the platforms entitled by your VEMS entitlements.

To view which products and versions you are entitled to download, log into VEMS by clicking Licensing on Support home page. Once logged in, click Entitlements at the top of the page. Locate the entitlements for this product and verify that the Entitled Version for at least one entitlement for the product is greater than or equal to the version of the product you want to download. You will not be able to download the product if the version of the product you want to download is greater than the Entitled Version of all of the entitlements for the product.

The Download Center records all download transactions. After you click Download, you may be prompted to select a Veritas Entitlement Management System (VEMS) account. Select the VEMS account you wish to be the account of record for your download transaction.

Updates

Click Updates to view all software updates associated with this version of the product. Click the Update name to view the full details of the update and to download its files. Check the box next to each file that you wish to download, then click Download. The Download button will appear once you check the first file.

To download files in the Updates section:

• You must have a Veritas account. If you do not have a Veritas account, you can create one by clicking Sign in at the top of the page and then clicking Create one.
• You must log in with this Veritas account. To log in, click Sign in.
• Some updates require that you purchased a maintenance contract and that your contract was active at the time the update was release. If so, your Veritas account ID (email address) will need to be a registered user of a Veritas Entitlement Management System (VEMS) account that holds an entitlement for one of the product releases listed in the update's' Applies to the following releases section.
• If you are not a registered user of any VEMS accounts that entitles the download, you will be prompted to enter an Entitlement Code. Enter either a VEMS entitlement ID or appliance serial number. If the Entitlement Code can be matched to a VEMS entitlement that can entitle the download, you will be able to download the update. VEMS entitlement IDs and the appliance serial numbers can be found on on your Veritas Certificate or can be provided by registered VEMS user.

The Download Center records all download transactions. After you click Download, you may be prompted to select a VEMS account. Select the VEMS account you wish to be the account of record for your download transaction.
