Tape devices
In small and medium Enterprise Vault environments, you can consider backing up vault store partitions and index locations directly to tape. Enterprise Vault data comprises many relatively small files which can take a considerable time to back up to tape. Rather than file level backups, you could consider making block-level backups to improve the efficiency of data transfer.
In large environments and in some medium sized environments, it might not be possible to provide a long enough backup window to back up all Enterprise Vault data to tape. In this case, you should consider snapshot backup products to provide a faster solution.
